MY STORY

Agnes Banyasz

I am a career strategist and intercultural communications coach with more than 20 years experience that spans industries and continents. Whether facilitating intercultural career training for graduate students in Melbourne, Budapest or Munich, or consulting with a professional in Carlton, the motto of my practice is always to enable individuals and organisations to identify their strength and reach their goals.

My qualifications commenced with a Master of Arts together with a Diploma of Education from Eotvos Lorand University, the oldest university in Hungary. These studies taught me to question, analyse, synthesise and most importantly to communicate clearly. To these a Graduate Diploma of Careers as well as a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment was added. I am a Certified Leading Professional registered by the Career Industry Council of Australia and am also a NAATI accredited professional translator and interpreter in Hungarian and English.

At the University of Melbourne I established and managed for 10 years the first faculty based careers centre that offered a full range of customised career programs and services for business students and alumni.

Life-long learning is important for me, that is why I maintain professional membership to key local and international associations; Career Development Association of Australia, Career Industry Council of Australia, National Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services and Asia Pacific Career Development Association. I have participated in conferences all over world, and this connectedness to local and international best practice principles allows me to build strong and rewarding relationships with my clients.

FAQ

Do you see all types of clients or specialise in any particular field?

I have extensive experience with many types of clients – students, young and mid-career professionals, mature age career changers, etc. My special expertise however is in working with international students, professionally qualified immigrants and expats; people who need to establish or re-establish their career in a new environment.

How do you help your clients to reach their goals?

Everybody has a different career story, so I meet every client at the career junction they are at, analyse the situation, identify strengths and possible weaknesses, map out opportunities, and develop a tailored personal action plan.

Do you do interview coaching?

Simulated interview practice is one of my specialities and has helped many previous clients ‘nail’ the interview.

How long are your sessions?

Individual consulting sessions are 50-60 mins long, and are followed up by an email that summarises the discussion and action points.

Workshops are 1.5 to 2 hrs or as requested by client.

Do you do after hours or Skype consultations?

Yes, appointments are available after hours and on weekends as well as via Skype.

What are your fees?

I work with a tiered structure:

Tier 1: students and not yet fully employed individuals | from $160*

Tier 2: employed professionals | from $200

Tier 3: organisations | from $550

*This discounted fee is for University of Melbourne FBE/MBS students and graduates.

You can choose to pay as you go for each individual consultation or workshop, or discuss with me the most suitable package for your situation. If you know you are likely to use more than one session, selecting a package will be financially more advantageous.

How do I pay?

Payment can be made via bank transfer, PayPal, cash or cheque.

What happens if I need to cancel my appointment?

24 hours notice of cancellation is requested. Cancellation fee is charged for appointments missed and not cancelled.
